Preparation for White Collar Fight Night 2 in Full Swing
After the resounding success of WCFN 1, applications for WCFN 2 were received in the hundreds with everyone wanting a taste of what they saw or heard about WCFN 1. After a month of consideration the organizers (Transguard Group Facilities & Event Management) cut the list down to 20. It has been decided that there will be 14 participants fighting in 7 bouts with 6 reserve participants to cover for injury or illness. Head trainer Zack Taumafai believes that from what he has seen so far in training WCFN 2 will definitely raise the bar in terms of the fitness, technique and match-ups of the participants. WCFN 2 will see 5 male bouts and 2 female bouts. Capacity at the venue, Habtoor Grand Resort & Spa has been raised by 120 to now accommodate 720 people. The head of White Collar Fight Night, John Mamea-Wilson says “Fight Night is fast becoming the hottest event in town.
A lot of respect has to be given to all the participants as 8 weeks of blood, sweat and tears will all come down to 1 night, in front of a full house of friends, family, employers, employees, clients and strangers. If you take the training out of it, the emotional rollercoaster is enough to sap the energy out of anyone. Worrying about your form while thinking about your opponent while at the same time having to work, look after family and fit in some downtime. It’s immense.” So, pencil in November 16 – “Let’s get ready to ruuuuuuumbllllleeee” |
